Especially, 40% of the elderly above 60 can be zinc deficient. Furthermore, if you happen to be pregnant, vegan or have a weak gastrointestinal system, you are vulnerable to zinc deficiency.

Food Rich in Zinc

Oysters are rich in Zinc but it is also found in beef, pork, and lobster. Besides animal sources, zinc can be obtained from beans, vegetables, yogurt and cashews in lower quantities.

If you are unable to include food items rich in Zinc in your diet, do get hold of the supplements that are rich in Zinc. But you should use these supplements in moderation and should seek the prior approval from your Dr, if you suffer from any other serious health condition.
