As I became engaged in a phone conversation with a Navy Federal Credit Union associate, I was in awe by her southern accent & it kept me on my toes. 1st because I needed to make sure I understood each word she said & by me being a city slicker I have the ability to adapt to any & every situation . This associate was very articulent & knowledgeable. I made the call while working & driving. I needed to know about High Interest rate savings accounts so I asked her can she explain them to me. “EVEN A GENIUS ASKS QUESTIONS “
Not saying I am genius ??♂️ but sometimes we deter ourselves from not wanting to ask questions, no question is ever a silly question, well sometimes you will come across some people that will make you say, Okayyy Interesting lol , practice patient with others. Anyway Denita , I say her name in order to remind the world the importance of knowing & remembering someone’s name, this will take you a long way in life, business wise & social wise, to remember someone’s name is to show that you are attentive & pay attention to every detail. Ok Ok Ok back to the point. Denita calmly said I can help you with that Mr.Newborn and started the whole breakdown. She 1st named off High Interest Rate savings accounts & informed me of the APR rate for each amount deposited, then she informed me of CERTIFICATES , letting me know the up’s & down’s of each financial way of saving. The assessiblity of the savings accounts is what i Iiked & I was sold from that point. Denita went above & beyond to explain some of her personal choices & likes which I highly appreciated REACH ONE ,TEACH ONE
For the fact of the matter she didn’t have to do that, but you could hear the excitement in her voice of the good things going on in her life & the excitement of learning something new. We conversed about latest reads & how this pandemic was a wake up call for all of us. Save for the future, save for a rainy day , this is taught & told to us at times , yet we spend to win & don’t take it seriously until we are in desperate need. This can be avoided by not competing with the Jones’s til this day I don’t why they put that on the Jones’s & for anyone with the last name of Jones ,I hold you at a higher standard & the bar has been set ? just playing, but seriously no need to compete, just remain complete. There is another saying of SHARING IS CARING, this is true as ever & information is free, it just takes the time to sit,read, soak & absorb, your brain is a sponge ? & sometimes you have to ring it out when the wrong things are absorbed. This site is my way of sharing is caring & I am thankful for those that share with me.
Another note never judge a book by its cover, the content could be life saving & life changing.
Point is if I would have judged Denita from her accent, her name or was racially or culturally bias ,then I would have missed out on the opportunity of learning something for a better opportunity within my own life. Thank you Denita & I truly appreciate it ??
Last thought on my mind this morning?
